By using Chronicle AI ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — they're written in plain language so there are no surprises.
1. What Chronicle AI Provides
Chronicle AI is a memory preservation service. We help families capture and keep the life stories, voices, and video memories of the people they love. Depending on your plan, this may include a written life-story narrative, preserved voice recordings, and compiled video keepsakes. We deliver these as digital files you can download, share, and keep forever.
2. What You Own
Your family owns all content — always. Every photo, audio recording, video, and written story you upload, as well as any finished Chronicle we produce for you, belongs to your family. We do not claim ownership or any intellectual property rights over your content. You grant us a limited license solely to store, process, and deliver your Chronicle while your account is active.
3. Subscription & Billing
- Chronicle AI plans include a one-time setup fee plus a monthly subscription. Exact pricing is shown on our pricing page before you purchase.
- New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel at any time during the trial with no charge.
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel.
4. Cancellation & Data Retention
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard or by emailing us. When you cancel:
- You retain access through the end of your current billing period.
- After your subscription ends, we keep your data for 30 days so you can download your Chronicle and all uploaded files.
- After the 30-day window, all content is permanently deleted from our servers.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Chronicle AI to:
- Upload content you do not have the right to share (e.g., recordings of people who have not consented).
- Store or distribute illegal, abusive, or harmful material.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the operation of our platform.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.
6. Limitation of Liability
Chronicle AI is provided "as is." While we work hard to keep your data safe and our service running smoothly, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that files will never be lost due to circumstances beyond our control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
